Despite our show being on a Thursday, we will be collecting for Tampon Tuesday at our JFL Northwest show!
Periods are a fact of life. Monthly menstruation products are a necessity. Nobody should have to pick between feeding their family and being able to afford basic hygiene products. Yet far too many people – especially those living in poverty – simply can’t afford them. We are joining the United Way of the Lower Mainland to collect menstrual products at our show. The United Way will then distribute those products to their partner agencies in the Lower Mainland serving those in need. So bring along a box of tampons or menstrual pads and help us contribute to Tampon Tuesday.
We are also super excited to have our friends from Lunapads joining us! Lunapads is a feminist, social mission driven business based in Vancouver, Canada. They believe reusable menstrual alternatives offer a healthy, creative and empowering way to honour and care for ourselves and the planet. Lunapads will have a table set up in the lobby for you to learn more about them and their products. They have also generously donated a prize package for one lucky audience member to win!
Speaking of generous, Lunapads recently donated 100 pairs of menstrual underwear to the Tampon Tuesday campaign! How great is that? (Answer: pretty damn great.)
But wait! There’s more! Lunapads is also giving a 20% discount to organizations supporting Tampon Tuesday, including fans of The Lady Show. Just go to lunapads.com and enter TAMPONTUESDAY in the checkout page.
